Flashgrove Music is a full-service music production and engineering company founded in New York City by music producer/engineer Kevin Porter. As a graduate of Berklee College of Music's world-renowned Music Production and Engineering degree program, Kevin has more than a decade of professional experience working alongside the top producers, recording engineers, mixers, and songwriters the music industry has to offer. He has lent his ears, production, and engineering expertise to Gold and Platinum-selling albums, as well as GRAMMY award-winning projects.
Kevin broke into the music industry in 2005 at New York's famed Right Track Recording and quickly rose through the ranks of the traditional, major recording studio ladder: from intern, to studio runner, to assistant engineer, to recording engineer and mixer. This level of real-world, hands-on training in a world-class, professional recording studio environment is an invaluable experience that has all but vanished from the music industry in recent years. As major recording studios around the world have been forced to face economic realities and the difficulties of today's music industry landscape, connecting with a producer/engineer like Kevin Porter who has navigated this time-honored proving ground has become increasingly difficult to come by. The value of an opportunity to train in this environment under music industry legends, such as Frank Filipetti and the late Phil Ramone, cannot be overstated.
In 2009, Kevin joined Germano Studios as a House recording/mix engineer. It was here that he continued to expand his skillset, build relationships, and perfect his craft as a music producer and songwriter while engineering for many of the most successful music producers, artists, and songwriters on the planet, including Ryan Tedder, Sandy Vee, Mutt Lange, Ne-Yo, Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony, and Skylar Grey.
